| In 2002 an Army brat and aspiring singer exploded on the charts with a harmonious, innovative debut album entitled All I Have. DJ Billy Steele Biography |
|
Written by Cazawa.biz
|
Since his formative years on eastern Long Island, Billy Steele has known a passion for music. Not until he moved to New York City at the age of 20, did he realize just how much it would impact his life.
Like so many others, Billy was instantly captivated by the sounds of the NYC underground. Realizing that simply going to clubs wasn't enough, he decided to immerse himself in the industry... He became a promoter, running guest lists for two renowned clubs in the city — The Tunnel and Sound Factory. "Making people happy" was his ultimate goal when working the clubs.
Little did he know just how happy he could make them. Billy embarked on his DJ career with a Saturday night residency at the legendary Limelight, with an innate feel for the power of the musical connection between a DJ and his dance floor. Since then, he has manned the helm of such clubs as Sound Factory, Sullivan Room, Room 143 and most recently, Avalon, NYC.
His approach to spinning records is a philosophy: enhancing the overall party experience by enabling people to feel good about themselves. His music incites an absolute need to dance - as if there is some unfinished business on the dance floor - resulting in pure emotional freedom.
Club History:
Limelight July-Sept. ’01 (Sat. bi-weekly resident)
