  Emily Shackelton

Hometown: Biwabik, Minnesota
Major: Songwriting
Instrument: Voice

It's taken her a while, but Emily Shackelton is finally comfortable with the genre she tried so long to eschew. "Today, I'm really excited to just say, 'I'm a pop country writer,'" the songwriting major says. "But when I came to Berklee, everyone else was always trying to be so different that I almost felt ashamed to just say, 'I want to be a country writer.'"
